A nice crowd enjoyed Tri-County Electric’s Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Gamaliel Elementary School in Gamaliel, Kentucky.

The lucky winner of the $100 to start the meeting was Bonnie Decker. Jeff Downing, Fountain Run District Director, welcomed everyone to the meeting, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance by the Gamaliel Elementary School Beta Club. Lacey Wood, a very talented singer, sung the National Anthem, followed by the Invocation from Brother Michael Stinson from Mt. Poland Missionary Baptist Church & Skaggs Creek Missionary Baptist Church. The Reading of Notice and Proof of Mailing, along with the reading of the minutes, was read by Attorney Greg Traylor.

Glenn Hale, Tri-County Electric CEO, thanked the members for their attendance. He welcomed our guests, discussed his twenty-three-year tenure on former CEO Paul Thompson’s executive staff, and his first eight months as Tri-County Electric’s CEO. Hale referenced the seven cooperative principles in his remarks and focused on number seven, “Concern for Community”.

Kids and adults alike were able to take bucket truck rides and get their pictures drawn by one of the two caricaturists available. The Tri-County Electric Safety Trailer was set up, demonstrating the importance of safety with electricity. The Luggnuts, a bluegrass band from Lafayette, Tennessee, performed for the evening entertainment.

Several door prizes were awarded at the end of the meeting, including the Grand Prize won by member-owner Allen Duvall from Cumberland County, Kentucky. Tri-County Electric gave a chair to each person in attendance and each child was given a Tri-County Electric T-Shirt. Everyone enjoyed the refreshments provided and served by Gamaliel Elementary School.

A very special thanks goes to Jessica McPherson, Principal of Gamaliel Elementary School and her staff. We appreciate being able to hold our annual meeting at GES and the great hospitality shown to Tri-County Electric employees and members.

In addition to cash prizes, two iPads were given away in the children’s drawing. Ally Copass and Jenna Jones both took an iPad home this year.

As required by the TCEMC bylaws, a meeting of the Board of Directors was held immediately following the Annual Meeting. Officers elected were President Mark Linkous, District E (Edmonton); Vice-President, Travis Carter, District W (Westmoreland); Secretary-Treasurer, Mike Miller, District S (Scottsville).
